To increase unity and boost morale during home learning, School No. 9 hosted Fun Friday on April 24.
Students and staff connected through an interactive trivia game called Kahoot. Students were able to access the Kahoot app through their district-issued iPads. While many students already were familiar with the game, School No. 9′s PBSIS committee created a direction sheet that teachers shared with families to ensure all were comfortable prior to the start of Fun Friday.
The questions were age appropriate, with a Pre-K to second-grade level and a third- to fifth-grade level. There were a variety of questions, such as what are the cafeteria expectations and what is Dr. Plummer’s favorite football team? Over 200 School No. 9 families participated to help connect during these trying times.
The event was organized by the PBSIS (which stands for Positive Behavior Support in Schools) committee of Casey Mulroe, Lindsay Bernero, Marissa Hudak, Melody Olsen, Viviana Olarte and Danielle Lorenzetti.
