Linden High School‘s Civil War Roundtable took their annual trip to the Gettysburg National Military Park located in Gettysburg, PA. For the third year in a row, the CWRT has spent two days exploring the historic town and battlefield where the three-day Battle of Gettysburg took place in July of 1863 and President Abraham Lincoln delivered his famous address that November. This tradition allows Civil War Roundtable members the opportunity to explore history in a unique way. This year’s visit included a ceremony at the Soldier’s National Cemetery, a guided “ghost” tour of numerous locations throughout the town, a demonstration of Civil War battlefield surgical procedures and visits to various areas that were critical to the outcome of the largest battle to ever take place in North America.
