The award-winning Linden High School Tiger Marching Band performed its annual preview show Friday, Sept. 1.

The show gave parents and the community their first look at the show the marching band will be performing this season at football halftimes and in weekly competitions.

This year’s show is called “Heart,” a production based on the rhythm of the heart inside us all, composed by Randall Standridge. It consists of three original movements, “Heart Rate,” “Heartbreak” and “Heartbeat.”

The preview show was on the field behind Deerfield Terrace School 9. The band is under the direction of Linden High School instrumental music teacher Anthony Spano.

Linden has been recognized nationally as a “Best Communities for Music Education” district for three years running.
