School No. 10 invited students, parents and the community to come in and help celebrate its 60th birthday on Wednesday, Nov. 15. In honor of 1957, when the school was built, the night’s theme was “Happy Days at School 10.” The faculty dressed up in 1950s clothes, including many as the “Pink Ladies” from “Grease.” Students also got in on the act by turning back the clock on their clothes.

The school proved to be an oldie but a goodie.

Visitors were treated to food, birthday cake, and old-time music both recorded and live — performed by faculty and students. Photos from School 10 going back as far as the ’50s and up through the decades lined the walls near the school lobby. The gym was set up with games, and prizes were raffled off in the cafeteria, including grand prizes of boys and girls bikes donated by the PTA.

Other guests and sponsors included the Linden Education Association, Linden Police Department, Linden Fire Department, Linden Board of Health, Linden Public Library, Wells Fargo, Winfield Bakery and Deli, Stop and Shop, and ShopRite of Clark.
