Linden celebrated the Week of the Young Child from April 16 to 20 with an array of guests and programs dedicated to early learning, young children, their teachers, and families. Above are Stephanie Barlow with her dad, Guy Barlow, during a kindergarten luncheon at School No. 5 on April 18.
Superintendent Danny A. Robertozzi took his talents to School No. 8 on April 20, below, playing guitar and singing “Itsy Bitsy Spider” to students for Sue Larmore’s and Tracey Merton’s pre-K classes. Larmore joined him on piano.
Kindergarten students at School No. 5 hosted a Diversity Luncheon on April 18, in which staff and parents brought in various cultural dishes to share with one another and the students. Parents joined their children on the playground for recess then came in to dine on barbecued chicken, pierogis, rice and beans, plantains, and several pasta dishes.
Kindergartners at School No. 4 celebrated "Work Together Wednesday" on April 18 by doing yoga together in the gym.

The Pre-K classes at School No. 5 had a family tea in the cafeteria on April 20, where parents had snacks with their children.
The Linden Board of Education work session will be held Tuesday, January 29, at 6 p.m. in the Administration Building Conference Room, 2 E. Gibbons St.
The Linden Board of Education regular meeting will be held Thursday, January 31, at 7 p.m. in Linden High School's Susan L. Hudak Auditorium at 121 W. St. Georges Ave.
