Summer is upon us and with it the opportunity for outside recreation. Please safe guard your child from injury and sun damage.
**Be sure to apply sunscreen to exposed skin before your child goes outside for extended periods of time. Reapplication may be needed depending on the length of time spent outside or if your child has been swimming.
**Always have your child wear a proper fitting bicycle helmet while riding a bike, scooter or while skating. Encourage them to wear knee and elbow pads as well.
**Be sure to review street and stranger safety with your child and never leave a young child unsupervised outside.
**Keep emergency phone numbers posted in a convenient place for easy access.
**Encourage your child to increase fluid intake to avoid dehydration during the warmer weather.
**Have fun and enjoy the longer days of summer with your child.
