“As One We Rise, Together We Roar”

Welcome to Deerfield School Nine, where we strive to make learning engaging and fun!

As a new principal, I welcome you to the 2023-24 school year.  I am humbled and pleased to work with our dedicated staff and community to help provide an excellent educational experience for our students. My vision for Deerfield School 9 is to provide students with an educational experience that inspires and motivates them to be lifelong learners through being effective communicators, innovative and critical thinkers, and contributing citizens of our world. Our goal is to provide a nurturing environment that meets the individual needs of each student, both academically and socially.  Your child’s education is our top priority! Together, we are committed to ensuring that your children receive the best support to learn and grow.

We look forward to working with you to make your child’s educational experience positive. Research demonstrates that parental involvement is the number one factorin determining student success in school.  It can take many forms. First and foremost, parental involvement means getting children to school daily and getting them there on time.  A crucial part of success for students is attendance.  As a parent or guardian, you must maintain an attitude that “Everyday Counts” for students to be in school and ready to learn. At home, read to your child every evening. This helps students build their vocabulary and love of reading, as well as impressing the importance of reading.  Being present to monitor student homework, providing a quiet place for homework completion, and being informed about progress and grades, I encourage parents to communicate with teachers

As we begin the 2023-2024 school year, the teachers continue to use more research-based strategies to promote high student achievement by integrating the 4 C’s (Collaboration, Creativity, Communication, and Critical Thinking).  We feel strongly that the initiatives already in place provide a strong foundation for exceptional learning.  This, along with the support of our families and community, makes Deerfield School Nine a fantastic place to learn and work.  I am excited to work with you and your child to provide a safe and productive learning environment. I wish our students great success this school year.

Educationally Yours,

Angela A. Principato
