A Message from the Principal:
Welcome to the Joseph E. Soehl Middle School website. I hope this site will help you to learn a little more about the wonderful and exciting things happening at Soehl. The administration, faculty and staff look forward to an outstanding year working together with the parents and students of Soehl Middle School. We welcome your assistance, input, cooperation and suggestions to create an environment that meets the needs of all our students and help each child work toward and meet their potential. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to call and please check this website on a regular basis for events going on at Soehl. I also urge you to keep track of your child’s progress on GENESIS (Linden’s web based student information system) or through our guidance department and teachers.
At the middle school, students will receive academics in mathematics, language arts, science, social studies, and health and physical education on a daily basis. Students will also get a quarterly offering of a foreign language, art, music, computers, or technology along with voluntary programs for those interested in the fine arts. We also have a very strong team of counselors and social workers who work with and guide students experiencing issues common to young adolescents. Our social workers are trained to investigate and remediate any cases of teasing or “bullying” that may arise to assure these incidents are properly handled. When necessary, counseling is provided in order to minimize and lessen the incidents of teasing or bullying.
My goal as Principal is to have EVERY child waking up WANTING to come to school. With that in mind, I feel this will lead to both academic and social success in preparation for high school and beyond. I look forward to working with you during the school year and I wish your child (or children) the best school year they have ever had.
Mr. Joseph V. Picaro
